China’s navy hospital ship, known as the ‘Peace Ark,’ arrived at Algiers Port in Algeria on Thursday as part of its Mission Harmony-2024. The ship is making a five-day technical stop, bringing excitement and fostering friendship between the two nations.
At around 10 a.m. local time, the Peace Ark docked at the port, where a crowd had gathered to welcome the crew. Sailors assembled on deck, waving to the enthusiastic onlookers, marking a moment of camaraderie and mutual respect.
Algerian military officials, staff from the Chinese Embassy in Algeria, and other representatives greeted the ship upon its arrival. During the stop, various activities are planned to enhance cultural exchange and cooperation.
Groups of Algerian doctors, military officers, local Chinese residents, and employees of Chinese enterprises will be invited aboard to tour the ship’s state-of-the-art medical facilities. Additionally, the crew will visit a local military museum, providing them with insights into Algeria’s rich history.
To further strengthen ties, the Peace Ark’s crew will participate in a friendly soccer match with Algerian naval officers, promoting goodwill through sports.
The stopover signifies the growing friendship between China and Algeria, highlighting shared values and cooperation in areas such as healthcare and military exchange.
