At just 25 years old, Italian native Giulia Busnardo is on a mission to bridge the cultural gap between China and Italy.
From a young age, Giulia was captivated by the richness of Chinese culture. “I’ve been passionate about China since I was a child,” she shares. This early fascination led her to dedicate six years to studying the Chinese language, immersing herself in its complexities and nuances.
Giulia’s journey deepened when she joined the Confucius Institute in Italy. There, she not only honed her language skills but also embraced the art of Chinese calligraphy, making lasting friendships along the way. “The Confucius Institute became like a second home to me,” she says. “It’s where my love for Chinese culture truly flourished.”
Last year, Giulia’s dedication paid off when she participated in the “Chinese Bridge” competition, an international contest that promotes Chinese language and culture among students worldwide. Her outstanding performance earned her the opportunity to travel to China, an experience she describes as “life-changing.”
Now back in Italy, Giulia continues to pursue her passion with even greater enthusiasm. She aspires to become a bridge between China and Italy, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation through language and cultural exchange. “I believe that by connecting our two countries, we can create a more harmonious and interconnected world,” she affirms.
Giulia’s story is a testament to the power of cultural exchange and the impact one individual can have in bringing people together. She hopes to inspire other young people to pursue their passions and embrace the beauty of different cultures.
