China’s Ministry of Justice is urging local judicial bodies to boost their mediation efforts to resolve disputes early and maintain social harmony. In a recent meeting, officials emphasized the importance of addressing common conflicts like family disagreements, neighborhood issues, and property inheritance disputes.
The ministry encouraged mediators to dive deep into these everyday conflicts to make their efforts more targeted and effective. By tackling issues at the grassroots level, authorities hope to prevent small disputes from escalating into larger problems.
“Mediators should work closely with relevant authorities to resolve disputes at the primary level and at an earlier stage,” the ministry stated.
The meeting also highlighted the need for absolute security in prisons and drug rehabilitation centers. Officials called for better support and education for individuals released after serving their sentences to reduce the chances of reoffending.
Furthermore, the ministry stressed the importance of coordinating resources like lawyers, notaries, and legal aid services. By doing so, they aim to provide more accurate and efficient legal services to help people resolve disputes and protect their rights.
