China is on track to become the world’s largest aviation service market, according to Airbus. With approximately 4,500 civilian aircraft, China’s aviation service industry currently accounts for 15% of global demand.
In an interview with CGTN, Hu Yongdong, vice president of strategy, development & operations customer service at Airbus China, shared that the market value is expected to grow from $23 billion in 2024 to about $61 billion by 2043. This nearly threefold increase will not only position China as the leading aviation service market but also drive the growth of the global service industry.
“The Chinese market will become the largest in the world,” said Hu Yongdong. “Its rapid expansion is a key factor in propelling global aviation services forward.”
The anticipated growth reflects China’s expanding role in global aviation, supported by increasing travel demand and continued investments in aviation infrastructure. As more people take to the skies, China’s influence in shaping the future of air travel becomes ever more significant.
