China’s Premier Li Pushes for Economic Boost During Shandong Visit

Chinese Premier Li Qiang is calling for swift action to boost China’s economy, emphasizing rapid policy implementation and innovative development during his visit to Shandong Province on Thursday.

While touring the city of Jinan, Premier Li stressed the importance of putting policies into action as early as possible to ensure tangible results and a strong start to the year’s economic performance.

At a local home appliance store, he highlighted the government’s consumer goods trade-in scheme, noting its significance in enhancing people’s quality of life and unlocking consumption potential. “China will continue to support this initiative with greater efforts,” Li said, promising optimized procedures to encourage consumer spending.

Premier Li also visited a charging and battery-swapping station, acknowledging the rapid growth of intelligent, connected new-energy vehicles in the country. He encouraged innovation in developing charging services and related infrastructure, underscoring the need to reform the energy management system and foster new growth drivers.

Inspecting infrastructure projects, Li emphasized that facilities like stadiums and modern water networks are vital not only as infrastructure but also for public welfare. He called for strengthening resource supply, including funds and land, to support these projects.

Regarding urban renewal, Li stressed meticulous planning of drainage networks and strict oversight during construction to ensure long-lasting quality. He advocated for attracting more private investment into infrastructure and public services.

“As a major economic powerhouse, Shandong should implement policies promptly and contribute more to the country’s overall development,” Premier Li stated.
