Harbin, China – The historic St. Sophia Cathedral has been transformed into a canvas of light and shadow with the debut of a dreamy light-and-shadow show that began on December 29, 2024.
Through innovative technology, the scenic area has upgraded its popular ‘artificial moon’ feature, seamlessly blending virtual projections with the real moon to create a mesmerizing visual experience.
The light-and-shadow display is part of the cathedral’s ongoing efforts to innovate and attract visitors during the New Year period. The show is scheduled to run twice each night, with an additional performance on holidays, extending until February 28, 2025.
Visitors are treated to a captivating spectacle where the historic architecture of the cathedral meets modern technology, illuminating the night sky over Harbin and offering a unique cultural experience.
This event celebrates the fusion of history and technology while boosting tourism in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province during the winter season.
