Iran Confirms Next Round of U.S. Nuclear Talks in Oman This Sunday

Tehran, Iran — Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi announced on Friday that the next round of indirect talks with the United States will be held in Oman on Sunday. The negotiations aim to address Tehran’s nuclear program and the removal of U.S. sanctions.

Speaking to the Shahrara newspaper during his visit to the northeastern city of Mashhad, Araghchi said, “Our Omani friends proposed holding the next meeting on Sunday, and we agreed. They have communicated with the other side, and as of now, the negotiations are set for Sunday.”

The minister emphasized Iran’s steadfast position in the discussions, stating that while Iran’s stance remains “principled and fixed,” the U.S. has been sending “contradictory messages.” He affirmed that Iran will continue to insist on its “clear” positions.

Araghchi also revealed plans to visit Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Saturday for consultations on regional issues and the Iran-U.S. indirect talks in Riyadh. Following these meetings, he will participate in the Iran-Arab World Dialogue summit in Doha, Qatar.

So far, Iran and the U.S. have conducted three rounds of indirect talks. The first and third sessions were held in Muscat on April 12 and April 26, respectively, while the second took place in Rome on April 19. A fourth round was initially scheduled for May 3 in Rome but was postponed due to what Oman described as “logistical reasons.”
