China has expressed its support for direct dialogue between Russia and Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of negotiations to resolve the ongoing crisis. Speaking at a regular press conference in Beijing on Friday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian reaffirmed China’s commitment to promoting peace in the region.
“We hope that the parties involved in the Ukraine crisis will continue to engage in dialogue and negotiation,” Lin Jian said. “Our goal is to see a fair, enduring, and binding peace agreement that is acceptable to all parties and ultimately leads to a political settlement of the crisis.”
Lin Jian highlighted that China’s position on the Ukraine issue has been consistently clear. “China supports all efforts dedicated to peace,” the spokesperson noted. “We believe that direct dialogue and negotiations between Russia and Ukraine are crucial steps toward achieving lasting stability.”
