DPRK’s Kim Jong Un Leads Key Party Meeting to Boost Economy

Pyongyang, DPRK—Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), presided over a pivotal party meeting aimed at accelerating the nation’s economic growth, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

The Enlarged Meeting of the Twelfth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK was held from June 21 to 23. During the three-day event, party leaders reviewed the implementation of policies set for this year, focusing on strategies to rejuvenate and modernize key industrial sectors.

“The plenary meeting discussed the issues of radically accelerating the revitalization and modernization of major industrial sectors of the national economy,” the KCNA reported.

In a move signaling significant future developments, the meeting approved a decision to convene the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK. While no date was provided, measures are being taken to prepare for this important assembly.

This meeting highlights the DPRK’s commitment to advancing its economic agenda and could lead to substantial changes in the nation’s industrial landscape.
