Chinese Delegation Boosts Human Rights Dialogue in Hungary

A Chinese human rights delegation led by Baima Chilin, president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies, wrapped up a three-day visit to Hungary on Wednesday. The trip aimed to strengthen exchanges and deepen mutual understanding in the field of human rights.

From June 23 to 25, the delegation participated in a seminar titled “Consensus on International Human Rights: Retrospect of the Past 80 Years and Prospects of the Future.” The event was co-hosted by the China Society for Human Rights Studies, the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, and the Eurasia Center of Hungary.

During the visit, Baima Chilin held discussions with Hungarian officials, focusing on sharing China’s perspectives on human rights governance and exploring avenues for bilateral cooperation. Participants from both sides exchanged views on the conceptual differences and shared values between Chinese and Western human rights frameworks.

The meetings also touched on the evolving challenges of global human rights governance. Both sides emphasized the importance of inclusive dialogue and practical cooperation to address these challenges effectively.

The visit signifies a mutual commitment between China and Hungary to promote understanding and collaboration in human rights, contributing positively to international discourse.
