Xi Jinping Pays Tribute to Heroes of Anti-Japanese Resistance in Shanxi

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, honored the martyrs of China’s resistance against Japanese aggression during a visit to Yangquan in north China’s Shanxi Province on Monday.

At the monument square dedicated to the heroes of the Hundred-Regiment Campaign, Xi laid a floral basket in tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in this significant battle. He then toured the memorial hall that commemorates the campaign, reflecting on the courage and resilience shown by both the military and civilians during a pivotal time in China’s history.

During his visit, Xi reviewed the CPC’s leadership role in uniting the nation against foreign invaders and learned about local efforts to educate people about this revolutionary history. He emphasized the importance of remembering the past and promoting the enduring spirit of resistance and national pride.
