Professor Warns US Protectionism Threatens Global Economy

In a recent interview with CGTN, Carl Fey, a strategy professor at BI Norwegian Business School, expressed deep concerns over the United States’ shift towards protectionist trade policies. Fey highlighted the irony of the situation, noting that while China is making strides to promote global free trade, the US is turning inward.

“It’s ironic that the US has now become a protectionist country,” Fey stated. “This protectionist stance is my biggest concern for the future of the world economy.”

Fey emphasized that open trade is crucial for global economic growth and that protectionism could hinder progress, especially for developing nations in the Global South. He called for countries to work together to advance free trade and ensure a stable economic future for all.
