CES 2025 Kicks Off in Las Vegas: NVIDIA Unveils RTX 5090 GPU

The world’s largest tech event, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, opened its doors in Las Vegas this Tuesday, drawing tech enthusiasts, industry leaders, and government officials from around the globe. Showcasing cutting-edge innovations across sectors like artificial intelligence, digital health, renewable energy, mobility, and quantum computing, CES 2025 promises to be a landmark event in the tech calendar.

“There is great momentum heading into the show with a record 3,400+ Innovation Award submissions, over 4,500 exhibitors including roughly 1,400 startups, and 1,100 speakers for over 300 conference sessions,” said Gary Shapiro, CEO and vice chair of the Consumer Technology Association, which organizes CES.

Notably, companies from the Chinese mainland continue to be a significant presence at CES. Nearly 1,500 Chinese companies are participating this year, accounting for around 30 percent of all exhibitors, highlighting their pivotal role in the global tech landscape.

In a highly anticipated keynote address, NVIDIA’s founder and CEO Jensen Huang unveiled the next generation of GPUs based on the Blackwell architecture—the RTX 5090. This powerhouse graphics card boasts 92 billion transistors and delivers an astounding 3,352 trillion AI operations per second (TOPS), setting new benchmarks in computing performance.

NVIDIA also announced strategic partnerships with Chinese car manufacturers BYD, Li Auto, and Xiaomi. These collaborations aim to integrate NVIDIA’s advanced computing technologies into next-generation electric vehicles, propelling the future of smart mobility.

As CES 2025 unfolds, attendees are set to experience a glimpse into the future of technology, driven by innovation and global collaboration.
