World Won’t Wait: Global Shift Embraces New Paths Without US Direction

The global community is poised to forge ahead amidst challenges, without waiting for the United States to decide its course, according to Warwick Powell, an adjunct professor at the Queensland University of Technology and advisor to former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

“The rest of the world is sufficiently mature and will not sit around and wait for the US to figure out what it wants to do,” Powell shared in a recent interview.

He emphasized that nations are capable of addressing pressing issues using their technological advancements, human resources, and financial strengths. “Trading countries will develop workarounds and new institutions,” Powell noted. “They will build new multilateral platforms at a regional level to expand trade and capital flows, enabling economic development to proceed.”

This perspective highlights a shifting global dynamic where countries collaborate independently to tackle challenges and pursue growth, reflecting a move towards more regional cooperation and self-reliance.
