China Vows to Defend Interests Against Unilateral Trade Measures

China has pledged to take necessary steps to protect its rights and interests in the face of unilateral trade actions. He Yongqian, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, made the announcement at a press conference on Thursday.

He stated that the United States’ imposition of additional tariffs on China violates World Trade Organization rules, calling it a clear example of unilateralism and trade protectionism. “These actions severely undermine the multilateral trading system, disrupt global industrial and supply chains, and escalate global trade tensions,” He said.

Emphasizing China’s stance, He added, “China does not seek to provoke trade disputes and is willing to resolve issues through dialogue and consultation. We are ready to work with other countries to jointly address the challenges posed by unilateralism and trade protectionism and safeguard the orderly and stable development of international trade.”

The spokesperson’s remarks highlight China’s commitment to cooperation and its call for multilateral efforts to maintain fair and open trade worldwide.
