China’s People-Centered Policies Boost Consumer Market Recovery

China’s consumer market is bouncing back as new data shows retail sales grew by 4% year-on-year in the first two months of this year. This marks a significant improvement compared to the previous year’s growth, highlighting the effectiveness of the Chinese mainland’s people-centered policies.

The government has implemented people-centered macroeconomic policies aimed at enhancing livelihoods and spurring consumption. Strategies include allocating funds through special bonds to encourage the exchange of old products for new ones, promoting income growth, providing tax and fee relief for low- and middle-income households, and expanding services in healthcare, elder care, childcare, and housekeeping.
