Maersk Executive Highlights China’s Key Role in Global Shipping

At the 2025 China Development Forum, Jens Eskelund, North Asia chief representative of A.P. Moller-Maersk, emphasized China’s critical position in global supply chains. He noted that China’s container shipping volume accounts for more than one-third of the world’s total.

“In terms of the scale of exports and market share, no other country can compare with China,” Eskelund told CGTN’s Zheng Junfeng during the event.

As one of the world’s leading logistics companies, Maersk recognizes the significant role China plays in international trade. The country’s vast production capabilities and extensive export network make it an indispensable part of global commerce.

The forum gathered industry leaders and experts to discuss economic development and explore opportunities for collaboration. Eskelund’s remarks highlight the importance of China’s continued engagement in shaping the future of global trade.
