Evonik Plans to Boost Investment in China Amid Open-Door Policies

China is opening its doors wider to the world, and global companies are paying attention. At the Boao Forum for Asia, China pledged to welcome more foreign investments, a promise that’s catching the eye of multinational firms like Evonik Industries.

Claus Rettig, Evonik’s Asia-Pacific president, believes China offers what companies need to thrive: stability, predictability, a huge market, and resources. “Everything we prioritize in Asia is found here in China,” Rettig said.

Evonik, a leading chemical company, is looking to team up with local partners for joint investments and development projects in China. This move could mean more innovation and job opportunities in the chemical industry.

For young people in the Global South, China’s openness could open doors to new technologies and collaborations. As global markets become more connected, opportunities for learning, working, and growing across borders are expanding.
