International businesses are finding reassurance in China’s commitment to opening up its markets, according to Andrew Wu, group president of LVMH Greater China. Speaking at the 5th China International Consumer Products Expo in Hainan, Wu highlighted how China’s openness is boosting confidence amid global trade tensions.

"China’s ongoing efforts to open up have provided a stable environment for international businesses," Wu said in an interview with CGTN’s Lincoln Humphries. "This commitment gives companies like LVMH the confidence to invest and grow."

The expo, held in the southern island province of Hainan, showcases China’s dedication to fostering international trade and consumer engagement. Wu emphasized that such platforms are vital for global brands to connect with Chinese consumers and embrace mutual growth opportunities.

"Events like these not only strengthen business ties but also promote cultural exchange," he added. "We see immense potential in the Chinese market and believe in building lasting relationships here."

Amid escalating global trade frictions, China’s stance on openness serves as a positive signal to the international community. For major luxury groups like LVMH, this approach is key to navigating the complexities of today’s economic landscape.
