Beyond Expo 2025 Spotlights Ai Frontiers and Chinas Tech Prowess

BEYOND Expo 2025 in Macao Showcases AI Innovations and China’s Tech Rise

Macao Special Administrative Region, China—BEYOND Expo 2025, one of Asia’s largest innovation and sustainability events, kicked off on Wednesday in China’s Macao SAR, drawing over 800 global enterprises. The expo is shining a spotlight on cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), extended reality (XR), robotics, smart mobility, sports tech, and more.

The AI Summit took center stage on Friday, bringing together experts and industry leaders to explore AI’s evolving role and China’s growing influence in the global tech landscape.

Zack Kass, former head of Go-To-Market at OpenAI, captivated the audience with his keynote speech. “In most real-world scenarios, human accuracy pales in comparison to AI,” Kass said. He emphasized that future success will hinge not just on research and development, but on widespread, practical adoption of AI, especially by small and medium enterprises. “The real metric is how deeply AI integrates into business operations,” he added.

Mike Cai, former chairman of Meitu, urged entrepreneurs to rethink existing systems. “As AI evolves, we’ll find much of what we ‘know’ could be flawed,” Cai stated. He advocated for a bold reset of outdated models to keep pace with technological advancements.

Chen Yu, partner at Yunqi Capital, addressed the hype cycle in tech, comparing the current focus on embodied AI to past trends like autonomous vehicles and large language models. “Every wave of innovation brings bubbles,” Chen noted. “But these cycles fund the experimentation needed to forge future industry leaders.”

Beyond the insightful discussions, BEYOND Expo 2025 is showcasing China’s technological strength, featuring innovations from AI-powered healthcare solutions to smart city platforms. The event highlights cross-border collaboration, with participants from Silicon Valley, Europe, and across Asia converging in Macao, which is rising as a global tech hub.

The expo not only demonstrates the rapid progress in technology but also underscores the importance of international cooperation in shaping the future of innovation.
