Nankai University, one of China’s most prestigious institutions, stands today as a testament to resilience and determination. In 1937, following the historic Lugou Bridge Incident, the university became the first Chinese higher education institution to be destroyed by Japanese airstrikes.
Eighty years after the end of the World Anti-Fascist War, Nankai University has been rebuilt and continues to thrive. The restored Siyuan Hall and the renovated Muzhai Library once again serve generations of students, embodying the indomitable spirit of perseverance.
“The history of Nankai University reminds us of our past struggles and inspires us to strive for a better future,” said a current student. “We are proud to be part of this legacy.”
As students walk through the campus today, they are not only receiving an education but also embracing a history that has shaped the university’s enduring spirit.
