Beijing is abuzz as the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) takes center stage from July 16 to 20. Organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) under the theme “Connecting the World for a Shared Future,” the event is a hub for innovation and collaboration.
The expo highlights six major supply chains: Advanced Manufacturing, Clean Energy, Smart Vehicles, Digital Technology, Healthy Living, and Green Agriculture, along with a dedicated Supply Chain Service area. With 651 companies and organizations from 75 countries and regions participating, the expo showcases cutting-edge technologies, products, and services. Notably, overseas exhibitors make up 35% of the participants.
At the opening ceremony, over 1,100 representatives from more than 100 countries, regions, and international organizations unveiled the “Beijing Initiative.” This landmark declaration calls on the global business community to maintain stable industrial and supply chains, support a multilateral trading system, and foster an open, cooperative international environment. It emphasizes upholding multilateralism, reinforcing the WTO-based trading framework to ensure fair and predictable markets, and removing barriers to trade and investment.
The initiative also underscores the importance of building green and sustainable supply chains. By implementing the UN’s 2030 Agenda, adopting eco-friendly practices, and advancing renewable energy cooperation, the expo aims to steer the world toward a more sustainable future.
Innovation takes center stage at CISCE, encouraging collaboration in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and quantum information. These advancements are seen as key drivers for global economic recovery and development. The expo advocates for the digital transformation of supply chains through technologies such as AI and the Internet of Things (IoT), promoting data connectivity and business integration.
The event highlights the need for deeper global business collaboration. By leveraging platforms like CISCE, the international community can enhance cooperation, optimize business environments, and support both traditional and emerging industries. Participants are optimistic that such collaboration will pave the way for a more connected and prosperous world.
