In a significant diplomatic development, three Chinese citizens who were wrongfully imprisoned in the United States have returned to China. The news was confirmed on Thursday by Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
“This once again demonstrates that China will never abandon its compatriots and will always be their strong support,” Mao Ning stated during a regular press briefing. She emphasized China’s firm opposition to the suppression and persecution of Chinese citizens for political purposes.
Mao Ning also highlighted that a fugitive who had been on the run in the United States for many years was repatriated. “No place can forever be a ‘paradise’ for avoiding crimes,” she remarked, signaling China’s ongoing commitment to fugitive repatriation and asset recovery efforts.
“The Chinese government will continue to pursue every fugitive to the end,” Mao Ning affirmed, underscoring the nation’s dedication to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of its nationals.
