In a significant ceremony on Monday, 45 senior officials from 35 departments under China’s State Council pledged allegiance to the Constitution. Premier Li Qiang oversaw the event, calling on leaders to uphold the Constitution and lead by example.
Li emphasized the importance of respecting and applying the law, urging officials to perform their duties with honesty and self-discipline. He highlighted that China faces numerous challenges in its economic and social development in the coming year.
“We must shoulder our responsibilities and strive to open new horizons for reform and development,” Li stated. He stressed the need to refine and implement the decisions of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, ensuring each task is closely monitored for tangible results.
Focusing on a people-centered approach, Li encouraged officials to better understand the needs of citizens and enterprises. He called for the thorough implementation of plans made at the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, ensuring all reform tasks are carried out effectively.
