Chinese Mainland Thanks Taiwan People After Xizang Earthquake

The Chinese mainland expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Taiwan for their messages of care and condolences following a devastating earthquake in the Xizang Autonomous Region.

On Wednesday, Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, acknowledged the outpouring of support from various sectors and members of the public in Taiwan. He highlighted that this gesture demonstrates the close bond between compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

The magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in Xizang on Tuesday morning, resulting in significant loss of life and property. In response, mainland authorities launched comprehensive disaster relief efforts, relocating affected residents to safe shelters and providing necessary assistance.

“The solidarity shown by the people of Taiwan brings comfort during this challenging time,” Chen said. “It’s a testament to our shared feelings and the deep connections we hold.”

Rescue teams continue to work tirelessly in the quake-stricken areas, aiming to restore normalcy and support those impacted by the disaster.
