President Tinubu praised the “unbreakable” friendship between Nigeria and China, emphasizing his country’s commitment to deepening ties. “Nigeria attaches great importance to its relations with China,” Tinubu said. “Implementing the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Beijing Summit is conducive to our development.”

Tinubu expressed hope that China would support Nigeria in assuming a larger role on the global and regional stage. He also extended condolences to China over the recent earthquake in the Xizang Autonomous Region, commending the swift and effective disaster relief efforts. Wang Yi thanked Tinubu for his condolences and expressed confidence in China’s ability to overcome the natural disaster and rebuild affected communities.
