China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) industry has reached a significant milestone in 2024, with production and sales surpassing 12 million units. According to the latest data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), China has led the global NEV market for an impressive 10 consecutive years.
In 2024, China’s NEV production hit 12.888 million units, while sales totaled 12.866 million units. These figures represent year-on-year growth of 34.4 percent in production and 35.5 percent in sales, highlighting the country’s rapid advancement in sustainable transportation.
Additionally, China’s NEV exports climbed to 1.284 million units, marking a 6.7 percent increase compared to the previous year. This surge in exports underscores China’s expanding influence in the global automotive market.
