The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) has recently launched an English-language database dedicated to “Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.” This initiative aims to make the guiding principles of China’s development more accessible to global audiences.
The database compiles authoritative online resources and multilingual literature, primarily in English. It showcases original texts and reports of significant news events, important speeches, congratulatory letters, messages, books, and signed articles by Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
According to Wang Lan, director of the CASS library, the database leverages the National Center for Philosophy and Social Sciences Documentation, established by CASS in 2016. “Our database has reached over 90,000 institutional users and 8 million individual users across more than 190 countries and regions,” Wang said. “This widespread access supports the international dissemination of Xi Jinping Thought.”
The library has collected a vast array of multilingual literature, ensuring that the data sources are both authoritative and reliable. “We’ve drawn from the achievements of domestic mainstream media to build an international platform that introduces Xi Jinping Thought,” Wang added.
By bringing together news, books, articles, letters, and speeches, the database not only traces Xi’s activities at home and abroad but also helps deepen understanding of the theoretical, historical, and practical logic behind his thought.
Wang expressed hopes to enhance mutual exchanges and cooperation with media organizations. “We aim to promote the CPC’s innovative theories internationally and foster exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations,” she said.
