Yabuli Hosts Thrilling Snowboard Test Ahead of 2025 Asian Winter Games

YABULI, Heilongjiang Province, China — The spirit of winter sports is heating up as snowboarders gathered in Yabuli for a thrilling big air test event ahead of the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games. The event, doubling as China’s National Championship, showcased top talent and set the stage for what’s to come in the continental competitions.

The Yabuli Winter Sports Center’s impressive course, stretching 214 meters in length and 30 meters in width with a 62-meter drop, challenged athletes to push their limits. Each snowboarder took three exhilarating runs, with the final scores calculated from their two best performances.

In the men’s big air final, ten competitors battled for the top spot. Yang Jinghan from Sichuan Sports College delivered a stellar performance, earning 79.33 points on his first attempt. Yang then wowed the crowd with a spectacular 1800-degree spin on his second run, securing 95.66 points and clinching the gold with a total of 174.99 points.

The women’s event was equally captivating, featuring eight athletes in a tight competition. Zhang Yuting of the Chongqing Winter Sports Management Center faced off against Gan Jiajia from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Zhang’s consistency paid off as she amassed 158.00 points, narrowly surpassing Gan by 2.34 points to claim the championship title.

The successful test event not only provided athletes with vital experience but also demonstrated Yabuli’s readiness to host the snowboard events during the upcoming Asian Winter Games. Enthusiasm is building as the region prepares to welcome athletes from across Asia.

The 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games are scheduled to begin on February 7 and conclude on February 14. With the test events showcasing high-level competition and organizational excellence, anticipation is mounting for a spectacular display of winter sports.
