China is playing a pivotal role in the world’s shift toward clean energy, according to Shukhrat Ibragimov, CEO and chairman of the Board of Directors at Eurasian Resources Group (ERG). Speaking with CGTN’s Guan Xin at Davos 2025, Ibragimov highlighted China’s significant investments in alternative energy.
“In 2023, China invested close to $900 billion in the alternative energy sector, which is likely the largest investment compared to other countries,” Ibragimov noted. “As the biggest consumer of minerals, China is the leading driver in the global transition to clean energy.”
He emphasized the responsibility of major suppliers to meet this growing demand. “Being major suppliers, we must meet China’s demand,” he added, underscoring the interconnected nature of global efforts to combat climate change.
