In a heartfelt gesture ahead of the Spring Festival, Chinese Premier Li Qiang journeyed to the historic Dabie Mountains in Anhui Province this week. The region, known as an old revolutionary base, welcomed the premier as he extended festive greetings to local officials and residents.
During his visit to Huangpu Village in Qianshan City, Premier Li met with elderly veterans and members of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He emphasized the importance of accelerating the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, focusing on improving pensions, education, and healthcare services.
“We must address the needs of our rural communities,” Li stated. “By enhancing infrastructure and public services, we can significantly improve the living environments for our residents.”
At the silkworm and mulberry industrial park in Zhongfan Village, also in Qianshan City, the premier highlighted the critical role of industrial development in rural revitalization. He encouraged leveraging local resources and embracing multi-functional agriculture to elevate entire industrial chains.
“Our rural areas hold diverse values that we need to tap into,” Li remarked. “By doing so, we can drive sustainable economic growth and ensure prosperity for our communities.”
Following his rural tour, Premier Li chaired a symposium in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province. There, he listened to officials’ opinions and suggestions on the government’s work report and future initiatives.
Li called on all levels of government to implement the Party’s decisions and to take proactive measures. “It’s essential that we promote sustained economic recovery and growth,” he urged. “Through collective effort, we can achieve our national objectives and improve the lives of our people.”
