Beijing, China — Wang Huning, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), extended warm Spring Festival greetings to religious leaders and believers across the country on Thursday.
As a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Wang met with leaders of national religious groups ahead of the Chinese New Year.
During the symposium, Wang praised the contributions of religious communities in 2024 and called for continued efforts to develop religions within the Chinese context. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the governance of religious affairs and fostering active, healthy religious relations to aid in China’s modernization.
Wang highlighted the need to promote core socialist values and Chinese culture, guiding the evolution of religious doctrines to align with China’s national conditions. He urged religious circles to enhance self-education, self-management, and self-discipline.
The meeting reflects the CPC’s commitment to respecting and uniting religious communities in the nation’s journey towards development and modernization.
