Xi Jinping Shares Festive Moments in Liaoning Ahead of Spring Festival

In a heartwarming prelude to the upcoming Spring Festival, President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited northeast China’s Liaoning Province, bringing festive cheer and highlighting the importance of the real economy.

On Thursday, President Xi toured a cold rolling mill at Bensteel Group in Benxi City. Addressing workers and officials, he emphasized that the steel industry remains a vital cornerstone of the nation. “The real economy is the foundation of our national economy,” he stated, underscoring the significance of sustaining traditional industries while encouraging innovation.

Earlier in his trip, Xi stopped by a lively food market in Shenyang, the provincial capital. Amidst the bustling stalls brimming with holiday goods, he checked on market supplies to ensure families could celebrate the Chinese New Year with plenty. Delighted by the variety and abundance, he remarked, “I’m truly happy to see everyone enjoying such good living conditions.”

The market visit took a sweet turn when children, excited to spot the president, eagerly offered him candies. Accepting their treats with a smile, Xi expressed his wish: “May your lives be as sweet as these candies.” The moment captured the festive spirit and the connection between leadership and the people.

This year marks the 13th consecutive year that President Xi has visited communities at the primary and grassroots levels ahead of the Spring Festival. His tradition of engaging directly with citizens continues to leave heartwarming memories, reinforcing a message of unity and prosperity as the nation prepares to welcome the Lunar New Year.
