After more than three months since their arrival, giant pandas Bao Li and Qing Bao are finally making their public debut at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington DC.
The zoo is hosting a two-week-long celebration to welcome the pandas, drawing enthusiasts from all over.
Bao Li and Qing Bao arrived from the Chinese mainland earlier this year as part of an international conservation and research program.
Their arrival marks a significant step in global efforts to protect this endangered species.
“We’re thrilled to share these incredible animals with our visitors,” said a zoo spokesperson.
The pandas have been acclimating to their new environment, and zoo officials report they are healthy and adapting well.
Visitors can enjoy special panda-themed activities throughout the celebration, including educational exhibits and interactive sessions.
The Smithsonian National Zoo has a long history of panda conservation efforts, contributing to research and breeding programs.
Panda fans are eagerly lining up for a chance to see Bao Li and Qing Bao up close.
