2025 Asian Winter Games Athletes Send Year of the Snake Greetings

The excitement is building as the ninth Asian Winter Games are set to kick off in Harbin, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, on February 7. Coinciding with the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival, athletes from across Asia are not only gearing up for fierce competition but also sharing their heartfelt wishes for the Year of the Snake.

Renowned athletes such as Winter Olympic champion short track speed skaters Liu Shaoang and Liu Shaolin, aerials skier Xu Mengtao, Olympic gold medalist speed skater Gao Tingyu, and world champion short track speed skater Sun Long have extended their greetings to fans worldwide. Joining them are world champion snowboarder Cai Xuetong, women’s ice hockey national team captain Yu Baiwei, Olympic gold medalist speed skater Ning Zhongyan, his teammate Han Mei, and Kazakh short track speed skater Abzal Azhgaliyev.

These athletes have shared their excitement for the upcoming Games and have extended their warm greetings for the Lunar New Year to fans around the globe.

China is set to make a strong impression, sending a delegation of 170 athletes to compete across all 64 events. The team is scheduled to make their first appearance on February 4, just days before the grand opening ceremony.

The 2025 Asian Winter Games promise to be a spectacular blend of sports and culture, uniting athletes and fans during one of China’s most cherished holidays. As the Year of the Snake unfolds, the spirit of competition and celebration is sure to leave a lasting legacy.
