Chinese Leaders Share Spring Festival Joy with Retired Officials

As the Spring Festival approaches, Chinese President Xi Jinping and other top leaders have extended heartfelt greetings to retired senior officials, spreading festive cheer ahead of the Lunar New Year on January 29.

President Xi, also serving as general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, personally visited or entrusted others to visit the former officials. He wished them happiness, good health, and longevity during this significant time of year.

The retired leaders expressed their appreciation for the accomplishments of the CPC Central Committee over the past year. They affirmed their full support for President Xi’s central leadership within the Party and recognized his role in guiding the nation forward.

Looking to the future, they expressed hope that the Party, the military, and the people of all ethnic groups will unite even more closely around the CPC Central Committee with President Xi at its core. Together, they aim to build a stronger China and achieve national rejuvenation through a path of modernization unique to China.

The Spring Festival, also known as the Lunar New Year, is the most important traditional festival in China. It’s a time for family reunions, honoring ancestors, and celebrating the hopes for a prosperous new year. The gestures by President Xi and other leaders highlight the importance of unity and continuity in China’s journey toward modernization.
