China and India Vow to Enhance Cooperation and Trust

Beijing, China — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Monday to discuss ways to strengthen the relationship between their two countries. The meeting focused on promoting mutual understanding and support, as both nations aim to improve ties and collaborate on global issues.

Wang Yi called for China and India to explore substantial measures to enhance their partnership. He emphasized the importance of refraining from mutual suspicion and estrangement, urging both sides to work together for the benefit of their peoples.

“The improvement and development of China-India relations align with the fundamental interests of both countries and contribute to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of Global South countries,” Wang Yi said. “It also promotes peace, stability, and prosperity in Asia and the world.”

Misri acknowledged the progress made through recent dialogues and communications. He noted that the two countries have effectively managed and resolved differences, paving the way for practical cooperation in various fields.

“India is willing to work with China to jointly celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations,” Misri stated. “We will fully support China in its role as the rotating chair of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.”

The meeting reflects a mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and addressing regional and global challenges collaboratively. Both nations recognize the significance of their cooperation in promoting development and stability across the Global South.
