In an exclusive interview with CGTN Sports Scene’s Shen Xiang, Yu shared her excitement and aspirations for the continental competition.
“I hope that both myself and my team can be in our best competitive state and showcase our skills at the Asian Winter Games,” Yu expressed. “I also hope we can make a breakthrough at this edition, surpassing our previous performances.”
For Yu, a native of Harbin, playing on home ice holds special significance.
“It’s an honor to compete at home,” she said. “There will be many fans and family members watching us. While there is some pressure, it gives us greater motivation. Harbin is where our dreams began, and returning here feels like giving a satisfactory answer to the people of my hometown and everyone who supports us.”
