Chinese Military and Coast Guard Intensify Patrols Around Huangyan Dao

The Chinese military announced on Friday that it has intensified combat readiness patrols over the territorial waters and airspace of China’s Huangyan Dao and its surrounding areas. Since January, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command has reinforced patrols and heightened vigilance in these regions.

In a statement, the PLA Southern Theater Command emphasized its commitment to strengthening control over relevant maritime and aerial zones to resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and security, as well as peace and stability in the South China Sea.

On the same day, the China Coast Guard (CCG) confirmed that it has conducted intensified law enforcement patrols in the territorial waters of Huangyan Dao and nearby areas since the beginning of January. The CCG stated that these efforts aim to enhance control over the maritime regions and firmly protect national territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.

Huangyan Dao, located in the South China Sea, holds strategic significance for China. The increased patrols by the military and coast guard demonstrate China’s dedication to maintaining sovereignty and ensuring stability in the region.
