Festive Sansha in Spring Festival

Spring Festival Brings Joyous Celebrations to China’s Southernmost Sansha City

This Spring Festival, the vibrant spirit of celebration swept across China, reaching as far as Sansha City, the country’s southernmost point.

In Sansha City’s Yongxing Community, families gathered to prepare sumptuous reunion dinners. Tables were adorned with homemade dishes like Wenchang chicken, grouper, and rice balls. Residents returning from various parts of China brought ingredients to share in the festive meals.

On the fishing boats of Meiji Community in Nansha District, fishermen celebrated the New Year with seafood feasts. Freshly caught tutufa bufo and other fish were cooked right on the decks, as fishermen sat together enjoying the joy of reunion amidst the gentle sway of the sea.

A local Spring Festival Gala added to the festivities. Unlike the grand performances seen in other parts of China, this gala provided a platform for local residents to showcase their talents, filling the venue with warm blessings and community spirit.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a specially arranged food street offered a variety of treats. From grilled sausages to candied hawthorns, there was something to satisfy everyone’s taste buds.
