Su Yiming Shines with Silver at Aspen Snowboard World Cup
China’s Su Yiming secured the silver medal in the men’s slopestyle at the FIS Snowboard World Cup in Aspen, Colorado, on Sunday. This marks Su’s first World Cup medal in the discipline.
After placing fourth in the group qualifiers, Su kicked off the final with a strong opening run, scoring 74.36 points to take an early lead. He improved his performance with a second run, earning 78.36 points. However, Canada’s Francis Jobin edged ahead with a score of 79.30, pushing Su into second place.
Despite narrowly missing the top spot, Su remained positive. “I’m thrilled with my performance and proud to bring home a medal,” he said. “This motivates me to work even harder for future events.”
Jobin’s victory marked the first World Cup win of his career, while the USA’s Sean Fitzsimons claimed the bronze.

In the women’s slopestyle final, New Zealand’s Zoi Sadowski-Synnott delivered a stunning performance, earning 87.80 points to secure the gold. Japan’s Kokomo Murase took silver, and Great Britain’s Mia Brookes finished with the bronze.
The men’s halfpipe final saw local favorite Alex Ferreira extend his World Cup winning streak to 11 consecutive victories. Ferreira saved his best for last, achieving a third run score of 95.75—the highest of the day. His impressive routine began with a switch right double cork 1080 Japan and concluded with a massive right double cork 1620 leading tailgrab.
“That’s easily one of the best moments of my life,” Ferreira reflected. “Overcoming the fear and laying it down when it counts—that’s what being a true champion is all about.”
Fellow Americans Nick Goepper and Matthew Labaugh rounded out the podium in second and third places, respectively.
On the women’s side of the halfpipe, Great Britain’s Zoe Atkin took an early lead with a score of 90.00 points, thanks to a right alley-oop 360 leading Japan followed by a switch right 720 leading tailgrab. China’s Li Fanghui claimed the silver medal with 88.50 points, and Canada’s Amy Fraser earned bronze with 86.75 points.
