In a move to bolster regional collaboration, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Beijing on Wednesday. The leaders discussed deepening cooperation and enhancing mutual trust between China and Kyrgyzstan.
Under the strategic guidance of their nations’ presidents, China-Kyrgyzstan relations have rapidly developed in recent years. Premier Li highlighted the strengthened foundation of trust and upgraded cooperation that have connected the people of both countries.
China expressed its readiness to work closely with Kyrgyzstan to implement key agreements reached by their leaders. The countries aim to firmly support each other’s core interests and expand mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors.
Emphasizing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, Premier Li pointed to advancing the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and other connectivity projects. The two nations plan to explore new areas of collaboration in mining, green energy, and technological innovation.
Additionally, China is prepared to collaborate with Kyrgyzstan within the United Nations and other multilateral platforms. Strengthening the China-Central Asia mechanism and promoting cooperation under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are seen as steps toward enhancing regional peace, stability, and development.
President Japarov affirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to its comprehensive strategic partnership with China. He expressed a desire to deepen cooperation in connectivity, agriculture, finance, mining, science and technology, tourism, and improving people’s livelihoods. The importance of youth and cultural exchanges between the two countries was also emphasized.
Kyrgyzstan welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and is committed to providing a safe and favorable business environment for them, President Japarov added.
