Peng Liyuan Hosts Tea with Kyrgyz First Lady to Boost Cultural Ties

Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, welcomed Aigul Japarova, wife of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, for a tea gathering in Beijing on Wednesday. The meeting aimed to strengthen the cultural and people-to-people ties between China and Kyrgyzstan.

As part of President Japarov’s state visit to China during the Spring Festival, Peng expressed her hope for continued close connections and frequent exchanges between the two nations. She emphasized the importance of cultural exchanges as a bridge linking the people of both countries, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.

Peng praised Japarova’s dedication to social charity and public welfare, expressing a desire to enhance collaboration in protecting the rights and interests of women, children, and vulnerable groups. “Cultural exchanges are a vital bridge for people-to-people interactions,” Peng said. “I hope China-Kyrgyzstan exchanges and cooperation will continue to flourish.”

Japarova extended warm Chinese New Year greetings to Peng and expressed her gratitude for the hospitality. She commended China’s significant achievements in economic and social development and voiced her commitment to promoting people-to-people exchanges between Kyrgyzstan and China. “I am eager to actively enhance the friendship between our two peoples,” Japarova stated.
