Harbin’s Media Center Buzzes Ahead of Asian Winter Games Opening

The Main Media Center (MMC) of the ninth Asian Winter Games in Harbin, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, is a hive of activity as it gears up for the continent’s biggest winter sports event. Open for nearly a week, the MMC is bustling with preparations to welcome sports journalists from across Asia.

Located in the Harbin International Conference, Exhibition and Sports Center, the MMC houses both the Main Press Center (MPC) and the International Broadcasting Center (IBC). Volunteers are on hand to provide language assistance and guidance to registered media and broadcasters, ensuring smooth operations throughout the games. The venue also offers convenient amenities like foreign currency exchange outlets.

One of the highlights for visitors is the official merchandise store of the Asian Winter Games. Souvenirs, including the charming tiger mascots “Binbin” and “Nini” representing Harbin 2025, are catching everyone’s eye.

The MPC is equipped with press conference rooms, an online news center, and workspaces for media outlets. In a nod to the event’s history, the center also features displays of torches from previous Asian Winter Games and exhibits of calligraphy and paintings themed around Harbin 2025.

As excitement builds, all eyes are on the opening ceremony scheduled for Friday. The atmosphere in Harbin is electric, and the MMC stands ready to support the influx of journalists covering this prestigious event.
