Chinese President Xi Jinping and Colombian President Gustavo Petro have celebrated 45 years of diplomatic relations between China and Colombia, marking a significant milestone in the friendship between the two nations.

President Xi emphasized that over the past 45 years, China and Colombia have maintained a relationship based on mutual respect and equality. He recalled President Petro’s state visit to China in 2023, during which they held fruitful talks and announced the establishment of a strategic partnership, ushering in a new era for bilateral relations.
Xi noted that Colombia is an important country in Latin America and expressed his willingness to work together to deepen the strategic partnership and build a shared future between China and Latin America.
