China is ready to enhance exchange and cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun. Speaking at a news briefing on Monday, Guo addressed the recent buzz surrounding Chinese AI company DeepSeek.
“We are embracing the AI transformation and working hard to advance AI,” Guo said. “We take the safety and security of AI seriously and support entrepreneurial innovation by Chinese companies, thus contributing China’s part to global AI development.”
Guo emphasized that China opposes drawing lines based on ideological differences or politicizing trade and technology issues. “We are committed to governing AI for good and for all, creating an open and inclusive environment for the development of AI,” he added. “Together, we seek to delve deep into this field of vast possibilities.”
The comments come as DeepSeek, a Chinese AI company, has garnered significant attention in tech circles. China’s stance highlights its commitment to collaborative efforts in advancing AI technologies worldwide.
