Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is set to embark on a significant diplomatic tour across Europe and Africa. At the invitation of UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Wang Yi will visit the United Kingdom to co-chair the 10th China-UK Strategic Dialogue. This high-level meeting aims to strengthen ties and discuss key issues between China and the UK.
Following his visit to the UK, Wang Yi will head to Ireland at the invitation of Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Harris. The visit is expected to enhance bilateral relations and explore opportunities for cooperation between China and Ireland.
From February 12 to 17, Wang Yi will attend the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC) in Germany. During the conference, he will deliver remarks on China’s stance on major international issues, aligning with the conference’s theme. The MSC is a pivotal forum for international security policy, and Wang Yi’s participation underscores China’s commitment to global security discussions.
As China holds the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council in February, Wang Yi will chair a high-level event in New York on February 18 under the theme “Practicing Multilateralism, Reforming and Improving Global Governance.” This event will focus on promoting cooperation among nations and enhancing global governance structures.
Concluding his tour, Wang Yi will attend the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa, from February 20 to 21, at the invitation of Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola of South Africa. The meeting will address pressing global issues and strengthen collaboration among G20 members.
Wang Yi’s extensive diplomatic engagements reflect China’s active role in international affairs and its dedication to fostering multilateral cooperation.
