An explosion rocked a department store in the city of Taichung in central Taiwan around 11 a.m. on Thursday, resulting in casualties, according to local reports.
Local fire authorities swiftly responded to the scene, launching rescue operations and issuing a major casualty notification, Taiwan media reported.
The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
