Speed Skaters Break Records at Asian Winter Games in China

The 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, saw athletes deliver breathtaking performances, shattering several speed skating records. From February 7 to 14, skaters from across Asia pushed their limits, making this edition of the Games one of the most memorable yet.

Chinese speed skater Ning Zhongyan thrilled home fans by breaking records in two speed skating events, showcasing exceptional speed and agility on the ice. His remarkable achievements contributed to China’s strong presence in the medal tally.

Not to be outdone, Choi Min-jeong from the Republic of Korea dominated the short-track speed skating events, setting two new records herself. Her performances captivated audiences and highlighted the intense competition between the region’s top athletes.
