China and Argentina Set to Boost Friendship After High-Level Talks

China and Argentina are looking to take their friendship to new heights! Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Argentine Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein in Munich on Friday. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen ties between their nations and bring more benefits to their people.

Meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Wang Yi expressed China’s willingness to work closely with Argentina. He emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries is built on equality and mutual benefit.

“China is ready to join hands with Argentina to implement the consensus reached by our heads of state,” Wang Yi said. “We aim to enhance high-level exchanges and collaboration in various fields.”

Wang Yi also highlighted that both countries should continue to respect each other’s core interests and major concerns, solidifying the political foundation of their relationship. He added that China does not seek any sphere of influence or engage in geopolitical competition.

“China firmly practices multilateralism and is eager to work with Argentina and other Latin American countries to uphold international law and norms,” Wang Yi stated.

Werthein expressed Argentina’s enthusiasm for deepening cooperation with China. “We look forward to strengthening high-level exchanges and practical collaboration,” he said.

Argentina thanked China for its support in defending Argentina’s sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands, also known as the Falklands. Werthein reaffirmed Argentina’s commitment to the one-China principle and its readiness to be a reliable and stable partner.

“Argentina is willing to play a positive role in promoting the development of Latin America-China relations,” Werthein added.

This meeting marks a significant step in the ongoing partnership between China and Argentina, promising exciting opportunities for both nations.
